Importance of Upanishads.

Upanishad, which is a sanskrit origin word. it is the combination of two words "Upa" and "Nishads". Upa whichs means "Nearby" and Nishads means "To sit down".

So, Upanishads mean "To sitting down near". Groups of pupil sit down near to Guru of that period listen to their sayings and thoughts which comes to them with their own experince.

This signifies the Guru Shisya parampara{tradition} of Indian culture.
Upanishads are the great example of our parampara.
Guru{teacher} is considered as God in Indian culture. The saying of Guru is also considered as the God saying and work on the saying is considered as performing God's work.

Upanishads are considered as the precious part of cultural heritage. learning of Upanishads has great importance in the Hindu culture.
Upanishads learns us about the philosphy of life. This contains the difficult disscussion of ultimate philosphical problems. It disscusses the inner and mystic teaching of life.

"Sanskrit is mother of many Indian languages."

Agreeable statement, Sanskrit is the most ancient language of our country. it is the one of the 22 scheduled official languages of india and it is the second official language of uttrakhand.
Sanskrit is the root of many indian languages. it is perhaps the only language that transcended the barriers of regions and boundries. from north to south and east to west there is no part of India that has not contributed to or been affected by this language.

Also, Sanskrit has its root in the other 21 official language of India i.e. Telgu, Urdu, English, Bengali, Hindi, Punjabi, Konkani, Gujrati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Manipuri, Oriya, Nepali, Tamil, Assamese, Mizo, Korborok, Khasi, Garo, Santali.

For instance, there are several words which are used in English of Sanskrit origin i.e.
Jangala-s becomes Jungle
Dalah becomes Dhal
Karman becomes Karma
Langulam becomes Langur
Loot-m becomes Loot.

similarly, There are such sanskrit origin words also found in the holy book of islam i.e. Quran.
Zaranjaber becomes Zanjbeel; which means ginger
Kapur becomes Kafur
Mushk becomes misk.

In punjabi, also there are many such Sanskrit origin words found.
Dughda becomes Duddha
Sapt becomes Satt-a.

As Sanskrit is older than 21 official language and we can say that Sanskrit is mother of 21 official language of India.

so Sanskrit is the mother of many Indian languages.

Unity in diversity in context of culture.

There are 8 major religions which are followed in india,namely;
Hinduism(82%), Islam(12%), Christianity(2.5%), Sikhism(2%), Buddhism(0.7%), Jainism(0.5%), Zorastrianism(0.01%), Judaism(0.0005%).

And,there are 22 official languages, thousands of dialects and other unofficial languages which are spoken by
1,241,491,960 brothers and sisters of india.

28 states in india with 7 union territories. every region has its own traditional costumes and food. every region's food is heavily influnced by the climate and culture of that part.

so, we can say that india is a land of diversity. But, diversities are not found in India rather than India is found in diversities.
the above statastic states that diversity is found in every region of india. so, what makes us one, what makes us indian with all such diversities?
the answer is lies in the question itself our diversity i.e. our culture.

yes, we follows different religion but they propagates the same thought of peace, principles and moral values of life.

yes, we wore different traditional costumes but it reflects the same meaning of the respect of our cultural heritage.

yes, we ate different food dishes but it tastes the same. taste of love and respect.

these all are the same things in our culture(our diversities) which makes us unite.
our culture(our diversities) is the cause of our unity.
